Black Friday

Black Friday

When and what is Black Friday?

Black Friday is a shopping bonanza that takes place on the day after the United States celebrates Thanksgiving. Black Friday falls on the fourth Friday of November. This was regarded as the start of the Christmas shopping season in the United States.

Retail shops began offering favorite deals and discounts, this became so profitable and popular that many other countries followed suit, including South Africa.

Black Friday started with retail stores (Since online stores did not exist) and online stores joined when they started. Online stores lead to people being able to purchase deals and discounts just after midnight, this prompted some retail stores to open their doors at midnight.
